"I make tattoos that represent me. I believe they work well on the skin and will never be just a fashion.I like the aesthetic of old-school t-shirts like Bon Scott from ACDC had, I also collect knives, I like skulls and snakes... so I make these punk/biker t-shirts."
Music has influenced me a lot since the beginning. I actually decided to be a dad and a drummer after I saw an ACDC video on TV. When I saw the drummer, Peter Criss, and his tattoos, I knew. I was like 14 or 15 and I knew what I wanted to do, funny. Then I listened to bands like Aerosmith, Kiss, ACDC and Iron Maiden and started getting more into punk. Bands like The Damned, Stooges, Buzzcocks, Clash, Ramones and I started studying their covers and this whole punk visual. I figured they'd be great themes for covers, and most of them became covers, so it all came true. I gotta be a drummer and a tattoo artist someday.
I started working at a studio and tattooing mostly my friends. I remember the first tattoo I did was a rose. I can't believe it's been more than eight years.
It's important for a tattoo artist to have an identity. Doing what's distinctive to you, having a style. I know a lot of tattoo artists, but only some work is distinguishable from others. Well, that's what I try to do with my stuff, give it something unique that only I can do.
I'm originally from Brazil, but I've been living in Italy for a few years now. The music scene in Brazil is cool, you can always see new and new bands playing a lot of different genres from alternative to punk and metal and I will always miss that.
Dude, maybe listen to some of these bands and come see yours. You'll probably know Slayer, Motorhead, Death in June, Killing Joke, Sonic Youth or Meat Puppets... Well, try listening to some bands from Brazil like Fellini, Hurtmold, Cankro, Ira!, 365 , Voluntários da Pátria or Patife band.
